Pressing "Go!"

“If you want to be a writer, then you need to write”, so I’m taking on the challenge of writing something daily, including one blog post each day. The purpose isn’t for it to be read by anyone, but rather to learn how to piece thoughts and ideas together, on paper, quickly. Oh, and in case I hadn’t shared it already… I’m writing a book, or rather birthing it, since the thought of it brings the same excitement, love, and terror pushing a human out of my body did.

Today is a challenging one to “sit and write”, maybe I’m making (more) excuses for myself, since writing is a bit scary… but a house full of kids, a puppy and one mama to feed and entertain them all can be a lot, when I’m seeking the peace I “believe” I need to put words down.

So for today I leave you with words by Maira Kalman, a woman who sees so beautiful, and presents it as well.

Maira Kalman, Women Holding Things

“What do women hold? The home and the family. And the children and the food. The friendships. The work. The work of the world. And the work of being human. The memories. And the troubles. And the sorrows and the triumphs. And the love.”
