How to eat more to weigh less: Feel good day 10
I like to describe my Journey coaching programs as “eating programs”, and often instruct my students to “when in doubt… eat!”. We’ve been misled by the diet industry to believe that eating less is the path to fat loss, when in fact it may be the one thing backfiring on you most.
Here are 3 simple tips on how to tap into your body’s intuitive hunger cues:
– Check in with yourself before you eat, by closing your eyes, taking 3 deep breaths, and connecting to the food in front of you. Ask your body what it needs in that very moment, and observe your thoughts, there will be valuable information for you there.
– Use the Ideal Plate portions as your go-to guidelines (fistfuls of veggies, palmfuls of protein, thumbs of fat, cupped handfuls of starch). When you need more food, add more, when you need less, do less, but always start from there.
– Eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner within their designated time windows, the body needs a little structure to know what energy to rely on throughout the day. And remember, don’t skip meals (pretty please).
Remember to post your meals on Instagram and tag @paolaatlasonwellness and #feelgoodchallenge for a chance to win a seat in my April Group Coaching cohort! You’ll learn to eat, move and breathe to quickly achieve your goals - and make them last.
